Benchmarking and Tracking Energy Usage
Per former Governor Markell’s Executive Order 18 , all State executive branch agencies, departments, and offices that own or operate facilities are required to enter energy and utility usage and cost data into a tool provided by OMB and DNREC.
At this direction, a centralized benchmarking model was developed. Each executive branch agency began entering utility data for State-owned and State-leased facilities into Energy Star’s Portfolio Manager, a web-based benchmarking tool. View details on Delaware’s centralized benchmarking model.
DFM oversees the State’s portfolio of buildings in Energy Star’s Portfolio Manager. DFM also works with agencies to benchmark buildings, track energy performance, and identify opportunities for energy efficiency projects. See Delaware’s energy performance progress to date. More information on Delaware’s energy efficiency projects can be found in the Energy Conservation & Efficiency section of this site.
