FREQUENTLY ASKED QUESTIONS



Question:I work in a state building that is leased to the state, who would I call to complain about IAQ?
Answer:  The person in charge of building oversight for the State, should contact building owner. If the problem is not rectified than call Public Health IAQ section.

Question:I work in a State-owned facility and the maintenance is performed by Facilities Management, who would I call to complain about IAQ?
Answer:  The person in charge of building oversight for the State, should contact Maintenance staff for that building. If the problem is not rectified then they will call Facilities Management IAQ section.

Question:I am an individual homeowner, who would I call to complain about IAQ?
Answer:  Call the Public Health IAQ section. They may, on a case by case basis, assist you.

Question:I don't feel well and I think my building is sick. Will you come and test my air?
Answer:  A sick building should have approximately 15-20% of the building occupants complaining before it is likely that the building is contributing to the problem. Air testing is rarely performed first thing, some investigation work needs to be performed to determine what test should be performed, if any at all is required.
