SUPERVISOR/WORKER REQUIREMENTS FOR LICENSING
Class "A"



Worker Paperwork Requirements
  • Complete Physical Examination
  • Pulmonary Function Report (graph or percentage figures)
  • Chest X-ray Report (NIOSH "B" Reader)
    *Initial - then every 5 years
  • Worker Application
  • Copy of Training Certificate

*Medicals MUST have been done within the past year to comply with State of Delaware Requirements

FEE - $25.00

NOTE:

All persons applying for a Delaware Asbestos license (Class "A", Class "B" & Project Monitor) must provide a valid Government Issued ID (i.e., Active Driver's license, Active DMV ID card with photo, Active Resident Alien ID with photo or Active Work Visa ID with photo or Active Passport ID with photo).

  • The State of Delaware accepts NO personal checks, only money orders, cash, or company checks (checks & money orders are to be made payable to the State of Delaware).
     
  • You have one (1) year from the class attendance date to apply for your NEW Delaware Asbestos License.
     
  • You have one (1) year from the expiration of your old card to attend a Recertification Class at a Region III approved training provider and PICK UP OR APPLY FOR YOUR NEW RECERTIFICATION BADGE.
     
  • After the one (1) year expiration date you will be required to attend the full training at a Region III approved training provider all over again.
     
  • Cards will expire one (1) year after the class attendance date listed on your training certificate from an approved Region III training provider.
     
  • There will be a $15.00 fee charged for any replacement badges requested and one (1) replacement color photograph is required.
     
  • CPR training cards will only be recognized for a period of one (1) year.
     
  • Any handwritten medicals MUST be originals. No "wet" readings will be accepted for chest x-rays, only the final typewritten report. Chest x-rays are required by Delaware every five (5) years. (Section 12, 12.04(6) - Other requirements as determined by the department).
     
  • Badge pick-ups MUST be done by appointment only.

RECIPROCITY FOR CLASS "A" CERTIFICATIONS

IF YOU ARE REQUESTING TO BE GRANDFATHERED INTO DELAWARE CERTIFICATION UNDER THE U.S. EPA-REGION III RECIPROCITY AGREEMENT YOU MUST SUBMIT THE ABOVE REQUESTED INFORMATION FOR CLASS "A" CERTIFICATION ALONG WITH ALL PAST YEARS TRAINING CERTIFICATES FOR REVIEW BY THIS OFFICE. ALL TRAINING COURSES MUST BE APPROVED BY EPA, A REGION III STATE AND THE COURSE MUST HAVE BEEN TAUGHT WITHIN A REGION III STATE'S BOUNDARIES. YOU WILL HAVE TO COMPLETE A CURRENT PHOTO SHEET WITH TWO (2) - 1" X 1" CURRENT PHOTOS, AN APPLICATION FOR THE BADGE AS WELL AS THE COMPLETE MEDICAL (PHYSICAL, PULMONARY & "B" READER CHEST X-RAY). COPY OF CPR PROOF ALSO REQUIRED FOR SUPERVISOR (COPY OF FRONT & BACK OF CURRENT CARD). THE U.S. EPA-REGION III STATES ARE LISTED BELOW:
DE, MD, PA, VA, WVA, D.C., CITY OF PHIL., AND ALLEGHENY COUNTY.




STATE OF DELAWARE SUPERVISOR/WORKER REQUIREMENTS FOR LICENSING
Class "B"

  • Completed and signed Supervisor/Worker application and photo sheet
  • Current training certificate
  • Two (2) 1" X 1" color photographs
  • Valid Government issued identification (i.e., Active Driver’s License, Active DMV Identification card with photo, Active Work Visa ID with photo, Active Resident Alien ID with photo or Active Passport ID with photo)
  • $20.00 Supervisor/Worker Licensing Fee

NOTE: Class "B" certifications are issued for two (2) years.



STATE OF DELAWARE PROJECT MONITOR REQUIREMENTS FOR LICENSING

Each Project Monitor application is reviewed on an individual basis. Persons wanting to be considered for Project Monitor in the State of Delaware must contact Donna L. Sapp at (302) 739-5644 for complete instructions of the review process. A current resume and Project Monitor application must be submitted to the state for review prior to scheduling of any courses associated with the Project Monitor certification.

NOTE: Project Monitor certifications are issued for one (1) year.

PLEASE NOTE THAT ALL DELAWARE CLASS "A" SUPERVISOR/WORKERS, CLASS "B" SUPERVISOR/WORKERS AND PROJECT MONITOR BADGE ACTIVATION VIA THE MAIL SERVICE WILL NO LONGER BE ACCEPTED. ALL LICENSEES MUST PRESENT REQUIRED DOCUMENTATION IN PERSON.
